Windy Creek Estate

Windy Creek Esate

Windy Creek Winery, formally Cobanov Wines, is a family owned and operated winery located in the Swan Valley in the shadows of the Darling Range, with the cellar door set in the gardens of the family home.

The winery employs modern and traditional wine making techniques, with white styles aiming to be crisp and friendly, showing loads of tropical fruits finishing with a nice mouth feel. Reds are earthy, with a savoury aroma and loads of fruit and well-balanced tannin. Visitors can relax in the beautiful rose gardens, with stunning views across the vines to the Darling Escarpment.

Windy Creek Estate was first established in 1937 by Anthony Cobanov. He left Croatia in 1924 and spent 13 years cutting sleepers in the south-west to enable him to put a deposit on this Swan Valley property. In 1937 he bought the fertile Swan Valley property that is still the core of the family business and sent for his wife and sons.

The Windy Creek label was first released in 1980 but the wineries actual name later changed, after a two and half year battle with Debortolis (Windy Peak), in 2000. The family has continued to produce wines for 70 years and have been selling fruit to other wineries for approximately 25 years.

Olive Farm Wines

Olive Farm Wines

Olive Farm Wines has a proud history as Western Australia’s longest operating winery. Originally located in South Guilford, and operated by an English botanist from 1829, the Yugoslavian Urisich family took ownership of Olive Farm Wines in 1933, and then made the move to the Swan Valley. Setting a bench mark in wine making, Olive Farm Wines is pioneering contemporary architecture and embracing innovative wine making methods in an otherwise conservative region.

Olive Farm Wines always strive to produce a diverse range of wine styles to cater for a wide variety of palettes. This approach has lead to the production of sparkling, white, red and fortified wine styles. Olive Farm Wines will also be venturing into a new area of the industry with the production of a pot stilled Brandy. The entire wine range is available only from the cellar door in the Swan Valley.
